Health is very important in life, but it is often not easily defined or noticed. The components of health are related to wellness, and they include food, shelter, personal health, water, physical activity, safety, social relationships, environment, and good personal habits. There are also mental health components of health that are closely related to wellness. Health is the most important thing that most people neglect in their life experiences. We spend hours of our days worrying about what to eat, how much coffee they drink if they’re getting enough sleep, and how much physical activity they’re getting. If we want to be happy and healthy, these are all things that need to be addressed. Health comes with so many components, too! There’s nutrition, body composition, sleep, stress levels, social connections, exercise – the list goes on and on! Here, we will summarize how the components of health are related to wellness.

Nutrition plays a very important role in your overall well-being. It affects everything from energy level to moods to weight loss or gain. The food you consume has an impact on every aspect of your life. Eating right is important for everyone but especially those who have diabetes because it can affect their blood sugar control. You should eat foods high in fiber (like fruits) as well as low glycemic index carbs like whole grains, beans, vegetables, nuts, seeds, etc to avoid chronic conditions. Foods that contain lots of protein and healthy fats also help with satiety which helps keep hunger at bay.
Try not to skip meals either! Skipping meals will cause your metabolism to falter so make sure you are eating enough throughout the day. If you need to snack try something small like a handful of almonds or some fruit instead of reaching for junk food.

Social Health & Wellness (SHW) is a holistic approach to living that focuses on our relationships with other people in order to improve our overall wellbeing. SHW encourages individuals to develop their own unique sense of self while also being aware of the impact that one’s actions have on others. This includes developing an awareness of both positive and negative impacts of one’s behavior as it relates to oneself and others. It involves learning how to manage emotions, stressors, and life transitions effectively. Social Health & Wellness helps individuals become more effective communicators by understanding what they are saying and why they say it. Social health is a process of becoming healthy through social interaction.
The goal of this program is for students to learn about themselves and others so that they can make better decisions regarding interpersonal interactions. The purpose of the Social Skills Program is to help children develop skills in self-awareness, empathy, assertiveness, problem-solving, conflict resolution, communication, decision making, time management, responsibility, and teamwork.
The School Counseling Department provides counseling services to all school-age youth (Kindergarten – 12th grade) and grown-ups who have an interest in learning how to improve their life circumstances or those of someone else. How Is Wellness Related to The 6 Components of Health?
Wellness means “the state of being healthy” or “a condition characterized by good physical, mental, emotional, social, spiritual, environmental, occupational, intellectual, cultural, political, economic, legal, ethical, moral, family, and recreational functioning. It includes a sense of well-being in all aspects of life.” The six components are Physical Health (PH), Mental Health (MH), Social Health (SH), Emotional Health (EH), Spiritual Health (SVH), and Environmental Health (E).
These components are much related to each other and affect one another. For example, if someone has poor MH they may have low EH which will impact their SVH. If someone’s PH is not optimal then it could lead to SH issues such as depression, anxiety, stress, etc. The World Health Organization defines health as “a state of complete physical, mental and social wellbeing and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity”. The WHO also states that a person can be healthy even though he/she does not feel well at times. This means that there are many factors outside our control that influence how we feel physically, mentally, socially, emotionally, spiritually, and environmentally. The sections below provide an overview of some of these factors:
Our body needs food, water, air, exercise, rest, sleep, sunshine, fresh air, cleanliness, hygiene, safety, security, shelter, warmth, comfort, privacy, companionship, love, affection, respect, dignity, self-esteem, acceptance, belongingness, freedom from fear, hope, optimism, faith in God, religion, spirituality, peace, tranquility, balance, harmony, health, healing, wholeness, wellness, good nutrition, adequate hydration, sufficient oxygenation, a healthy immune system, the ability to move freely without pain or injury, etc., all of which are essential for our survival. The list is endless and includes everything that we need as human beings—and more! We can’t live without them; they’re part of who we are. They make us whole. And yet many people don’t have enough of these things. These three steps will discuss more this topic :
Step 1 :
The first step to achieving what you want out of life is to understand how important it really is. You may not get your heart’s desire right away, but if you keep working at it every day, eventually you will succeed. The second thing I’d like you to do is think about something else: What would happen if you didn’t eat? Would you die? Of course not. But another question arises: If you were starving in an isolated area with no food available, would you still survive?
No matter where you live or what kind of job you hold, there are always going to be times when you need more than just the basics—more money, a better car, nicer clothes, and so on. When these things aren’t enough for you, then you have two choices: Either give up and settle for less (which means that you’ll never achieve anything), or work harder until you can afford them. The first choice may seem easier at first glance, but it’s actually much worse because it leads nowhere. You’re stuck in mediocrity forever. And as long as you don’t know how to get out of this rut, your life will remain miserable.
Step 2 :
The second option is far superior. It takes hard work, but if you stick with it, eventually you’ll succeed. In fact, once you’ve learned how to make yourself happy through self-discipline, you won’t even want any other way any more! The key here is not just the amount of money you earn; it’s also what kind of lifestyle you lead. The best thing about a high income isn’t that it makes everything else possible—it doesn’t. But when combined with an excellent quality of life and good health, it does give you more options than ever before.
Step 3 :
The third option is to be content with whatever level of wealth you have now. This may sound like a copout or something only someone who has no ambition would say, but I’m telling you right up front: If you’re in debt, don’t worry too much about getting rich. You’ll never get out from under your debts if you keep spending all day trying to make yourself richer. Instead, focus on paying off those debts as quickly as possible so you can start living again. It’s not easy, but it will pay dividends for the rest of your life.

Is it diet, exercise, stress management, sleep quality, etc.? Or does one factor outweigh another? What are some things that we should do more often than others?
I think this question is really asking what makes us happy. I would say happiness comes in many forms: a good relationship with family/friends; having fun at work or school; being able to help people who need our assistance (i.e. volunteering); feeling like we’re making an impact on society by doing something worthwhile; finding meaning in our lives through helping others; enjoying nature; getting enough sleep; eating healthy food; exercising regularly; taking time out from technology every day; spending time alone without distractions; meditating; practicing mindfulness; reading books that inspire and educate me; etc., etc.. The list goes on, but the point is there are so many ways to be happy! And if you can find more than one way of achieving it, then even better! I’m not saying I’ve found all these things yet or will ever achieve them 100% of the time – far from it!
But what I am trying to do is focus my attention on being happier rather than focusing on how unhappy I feel most days. I think this is a great question for us as we get older because happiness seems like such an elusive thing in our lives. We’re always looking for something else, some other person, place, experience, activity, hobby, etc. to make ourselves happy. Wellness & Physical Fitness are both important but they should not be confused with each other. They have different purposes and goals. One can exist without the other. For example: If you want to lose weight then it’s very likely that you will need to exercise more often than if you just wanted to maintain or gain weight. But there is no reason why one cannot do both at once (i.e., exercising regularly while also maintaining a healthy diet).
So, here is the summarize of how the components of health are related to wellness. Health is about more than just studying and acquiring knowledge. It is about what we do with that knowledge, how we live our lives day today, and the bodies we inhabit as a result.
